Do you know what's at the root of insecurity?
Fear.
Fear of not being liked.
Or not being good enough.
Or being too much.
Or not being lovable.
Or being too intimidating.
Or not being able.
Or being alone.
"Fear is the enemy of love" says St. Augustine.
Let that sink in.
Fear keeps us from love - from being receptive to God's love, and from loving ourselves.
We all have insecurities, and fears.
But I don't think we all realize it.
Maybe you're afraid the reason you're still single, is because you're not beautiful enough compared to your friends.
Or afraid the reason you're struggling with miscarriage or infertility, is because you're not maternal enough to deserve kids.
Or afraid to stop using birth control in your marriage, because you're not sure you're maternal enough TO have kids.
Or afraid to confess that you had an abortion, because you're not sure you're really forgivable.
Or afraid the reason you struggle with mental illness, is because you're just not as strong as other people.
Or afraid to stop achieving, achieving, achieving - because you're not sure you are inherently worthy just as you are.
There are two things you need to know:
These fears are keeping you from God.
And He can heal them.
Are you ready to be truly strong, and truly free?
Face
your
fears.
He's waiting for you. ❤️
