There’s no denying that we are living in difficult times. It can sometimes be hard to see the light for all the darkness when every time you log on to your computer or turn on the TV, there’s more bad news.
As Catholics, we believe in the importance of the good, the true, and the beautiful. We believe that surrounding ourselves with the good, the true, and the beautiful will help lead us to the one who is goodness, truth, and beauty. We build huge cathedrals that contain the good, teach the true, and use beauty to bring souls to God. And, in our homes, we can decorate with objects that help us “think of what is above, not of what is on earth” (Colossians 3:2).
As Catholics, we believe that surrounding ourselves with the good, the true, and the beautiful will help lead us to the one who is goodness, truth, and beauty.
If you’re stuck in the house and feeling in need of some inspiration, these products (all sold by Catholic women!) can help you bring some joy into your home during these difficult times:
Prints and Illustrations
The Catholic world is full of artists talented in calligraphy, hand-lettering, and art. Scrolling through Instagram, I often see and share their prints of favorite Bible verses and saint quotes or portraits of the Holy family or saints. Here are just a few prints that will brighten your home — and even help you pray!

This 8x10 print from Fawnly Prints is printed on textured watercolor paper and contains a line from Zephaniah: “With his love, he will calm all your fears.” Consider it your daily reminder that we need not be afraid, no matter what happens.

Buy this watercolor print from Saint Script Shop for the mother in your life (even if it’s yourself!) to remind her of God’s great gifts of motherhood. St. Thérèse of Lisieux knew what she was talking about when it came to God — and mothers (hers is a saint as well!).

If you feel like you’re going crazy with the mess your stir-crazy kids are making, you’re not alone, and this print from Pink Salt Riot will remind you that parenting is not easy. Pink Salt Riot is not only a woman-owned business, but the entire team is female.
Catholic Mothers U.K. has a beautiful framed print of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12), a gentle daily reminder to “rejoice and be glad.” The artist, Chris Parreno, also takes commissions.

Remilla Ty makes stickers and prints, many of which are inspired by the saints. This print has a quote from St. Joan of Arc: “I am not afraid, for God is with me. I was born to do this.” It’s 5x7 and printed digitally on uncoated, matte, heavyweight paper.

Prints of Mercy shares the message Jesus gave St. Faustina through prints, mugs, and stickers. This print, which you can download instantly upon purchasing, shares a quote from St. Faustina, “I trust in the ocean of your mercy!”

St. Mary Magdalene has been beloved by women and men alike for two millennia now. This print by Jen Olson is a beautiful recreation of her original watercolor painting of the patroness of women.

May is Mary’s month! Celebrate her with this 8x10 digital download, “Garden of Mary’s Womb,” from Be a Heart Design. The print is named after Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s reflection:
“When the angel appeared to Mary, God was announcing this love for the new humanity. It was the beginning of a new earth, and Mary became ‘a flesh-gift Paradise to be gardened by the new Adam.’ As in the first garden Eve brought destruction, so in the garden of her womb, Mary would now bring Redemption.”
Wall Rosaries

This wall rosary from No Heart Untouched comes in three different sizes to help you center your day around prayer (and remember the mysteries!).

This one from Small Things Great Love helps support Maggie’s Place, which serves pregnant and parenting mothers.
Banners

Just in time for Pentecost, don’t miss this canvas banner from Rose Harrington (photo courtesy of Olivia Spears at totheheights.com) is inspired by this prayer to the Holy Spirit:
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

We all need a reminder sometimes that we are made in the likeness of God (Genesis 1:27). This banner from Brick House in the City will serve as that reminder to you, with the message, “Know, O beautiful soul, that you are the image of God. Know that you are the glory of God.”
Stickers

Love all things Tolkien (the answer is “yes,” right)? Southfarthing Studio’s Elvish hologram sticker is for you. “A Elbereth Gilthoniel” is the first line in a hymn to Varda, one of the Valars of Middle-Earth mythology. Owner Rachel says, “My hope is that this image can be a banner of hope to all elf-friends in dark times.”

This morning offering cling from Annunciation Designs is a great way to start your day on the right foot. Put it on your bathroom mirror or your front door, and say a prayer before you leave for work in the morning (or, for many of us currently, before you head to your home office/kitchen table to start working for the day).
Journals

St. Teresa of Calcutta (then known simply as “Mother Teresa”) was my childhood hero, and I am getting married this year on her feast day, so I loved finding this journal from tiSPARK. Use it to document this unprecedented time, to explore your creativity in some freewriting, to work out your worries and anxieties, or to start a prayer journal.

The morning offering journal from Live Today Well Co. gives you a Scripture verse and a one-page guided journal to start each day with. Plus, all purchases help support Catholic Charities. (Full disclosure: I write for Live Today Well.)
For the Kitchen

Celebrate St. Elizabeth Ann Seton — wife, mother, teacher and then religious sister and founder of the Sisters of Charity — with this tea towel from The Rooted Mom that reads, “Our least action when done for Him is precious.”

I named my blog “Everyday Roses” in honor of my Confirmation saint, Thérèse of Lisieux, and was excited to discover this mug, which has one of my favorite lines from her autobiography. It’s from a company also named after her: Little Way Design Co.

Another great literary mug is this one from Greenhouse Collective inspired by southern Catholic writer (as a southern Catholic writer of, admittedly, much less talent, I love this!) Flannery O’Connor. In an age where simply being Catholic seems countercultural, I’d be happy to be called a “holy misfit,” wouldn’t you?
